Community & Home Supports is seeking an Executive Director.
Job Summary:
Provides leadership and management to ensure the continued success and
sustainability of the programs and the organization by setting
direction; hiring, developing and managing staff to implement programs
and policies; and efficiency using fiscal resources.
Reporting Relationship: Reports to the Board of Directors
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - The following list of duties is a menu of possible services the Executive Director may provide:
- Works cooperatively with the board of directors, designs and implements strategic plan that identifies short- and long-term objectives and requirements.
- Monitors board of directors’ activities; develops and maintains effective communication with board members.
- Acts as a liaison between board and staff members.
- Initiates, establishes, develops, and manages collaborative relationships with key industry and governmental partner; performs outreach to community to gain support for organization.
- Oversees the financial management of the organization by coordinating annual budgetary planning and tracking, monitoring budgets, keeping records, preparing reports, managing financial statements and reconciliations; possess signing authority.
- Identifies resource needs and seeks additional project funding; develops foundation grants to support programs, general operating expenses and special projects.
- Cultivates relations with donors, foundations and corporations
- Tracks grant funds and oversees writing of all foundation reports and project updates.
- Supervises and organizes fundraising activities.
- Oversees program evaluation tools, working with partnering organizations to evaluate programs effectively.
- Provides hand-on management of the organization’s day-to-day operations with the goal of effectively serving needs of the community and people requesting services.
- Develops, monitors and implements the organizations policies and procedures.
- Oversees internal workflows and organizational development; ensures communication and information flow throughout the organization is efficiently managed to provide all employees with current, pertinent, job-related information.
- Directs and oversees all staff-related activities and human resources functions
- Ensures that all operations comply with federal, state, local and/or organization policies and procedures.
- Assigns duties and monitors quality of work; assures staff conforms to organizational policies and procedures and government regulations.
- Hires, motivates, develops and supervises staff; evaluates staff members and develops staff potential.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:
- Master’s Degree in social work or related field from a nationally accredited college/university.
- Current certification and/or licensure to practice in appropriate discipline in the State of Michigan.
Experience:
- Eight (8) years of increasing levels of professional experience in social work or a related field, five (5) years of which shall be in a supervisory capacity.
- Proven experience growing an organization;
- Commitment to excellence and high standards;
- Demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating staff;
- Proven leadership and business acumen skills;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills;
- Strong organizational, problem solving and analytical skills
