Film festival free for kids 12 and younger

MJR Digital Cinemas is hosting a free Fall Childrens’ Film Festival for children ages 12 and younger.

“It’s kind of a good-neighbor thing that was started years ago,” says Robin B. Hansen, director of marketing and promotions for Bloomfield Hills-based MJR Digital Cinemas, about the festival which started nearly 20 years ago.

Films will be shown every Saturday and Sunday, starting today, and running through Oct. 27. Advance tickets are not available. Tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis up to theater capacity, which ranges anywhere from about 100-250 seats. Admission for anyone older than 12 is $1.

The film lineup will be:

  • Saturday and Sunday - “Epic
  • Oct. 12-13 - “The Croods”
  • Oct. 19-20 - “Turbo”
  • Oct. 26-27 - “Despicable Me 2”

Films will be shown at the following locations:
  • Westland Grand Digital Cinema 16
  • Marketplace Sterling Heights Digital Cinema 20
  • Southgate Digital Cinema 20
  • Waterford Digital Cinema 16
  • Partridge Creek Digital Cinema 14
  • Chesterfield Crossing Digital Cinema 16
  • Brighton Towne Square Digital Cinema 20
  • Allen Park Cinema
  • Adrian Digital Cinema 10
