Young
Detroit Builders has an opportunity to enroll a few more young people
into our YouthBuild AmeriCorps Program in the next week. It is a very
small window so we are asking you to refer any 18-24 year olds (17 if
they are not likely to go back to high school) who have not finished
high school and would like to get assistance with GED preparation and
see the value of learning basic construction skills. These young people
would have to be prepared to commit to a ten month program that includes
on the job construction training and GED Preparation.
Please
refer any clients that you have who fit the criteria to us. Have them
call our office and mention that your organization referred them. If you
prefer you can provide us with a list and we will call the young people
and explain the opportunity to them. They will be scheduled to come in
to fill out and application and take a TABE test tomorrow or Monday,
they would begin the program by next week Wednesday.
